AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Like all the Societies, we share the aims and objectives of the parent organisation, which are:
‘to promote the advancement of arts education and appreciation’
‘to support the preservation of our artistic heritage’
The Statement of Financial Activities and Balance Sheet for the year ended 31st July are subject to the scrutiny of an Independent Examiner, approved by the Committee and signed on its behalf by the Chairman.
The Balance Sheet can be seen on the Charity Commission website.
These aims and objectives are realised:
FOR the members, through monthly lectures, study days and outings focused on a wide variety of arts-related topics, and
BY the members, through volunteer activities such as Heritage Volunteering, Church Recording and Young Arts Projects, which are designed to introduce the arts to young people who would otherwise not have that opportunity.
AS a charity, we promote the advancement of public aesthetic education, the cultivation and study of the decorative and fine arts and the giving of aid to the conservation of our national artistic heritage for the benefit of the public. These objectives are achieved by grants to individuals, grants to organisations, provision of services and human resources as volunteers and involvement in community arts.
Active involvement in community arts is what attracts many members to join.
