Days of special interest are back!

A new attraction has just opened in Northumbria - Ad Gefrin

Welcome to The Gefrin Trust

I am planning a visit, but as Ad Gefrin is currently expected to open later this month, I want to check it out first, which I hope to do within a couple of weeks of the opening. So, I should have more definite information for the next meeting.

Ad Gefrin is situated near Wooler in Northumberland, close to the Iron Age hill fort of Yeavering, which was a royal court in the 7th century. The attraction will include an Anglo-Saxon museum, with artefacts from the excavations at Yeavering and precious objects on loan from the British Museum and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, as well as a re-creation of a Great Hall. In addition, it is the site of the first legal whisky distillery opened in England for over a century, with guided tours and tastings."

There is also a new whisky distillery on site!
