Arts Volunteering

Arts volunteers aim to advance arts education and help future generations develop an interest in the arts.

The society provides funding for projects that encourage young people to explore their potential and raise their self-esteem. Projects are varied and target different age groups in particular those young people not usually exposed to art.

Croft Primary School

A very special project received funding from raffle proceeds donated by our members. A first initiative by Claire Rutter has now been completed. Year 5/6 pupils at Croft Church of England Primary School designed a birdbath sculpture to form the centrepiece for the school’s spiritual garden..

Art Foundation Student's Exhibition

The Exhibition at The Festival of Thrift, Darlington which was funded by a grant from the Society. The theme of the Festival was 'Steam' and images were researched from The Head of Steam Railway Museum.

Young Carers Project

A recent project, courtesy of an anonymous donor, was facilitating 10 children aged 11 to 13 from Darlington Young Carers (children who care for or help with the care of a member of their family) to earn a Bronze Art Award which is a national qualification run jointly by Trinity Guildhall and Arts Council England.
