The Bauhaus


Anthea studied Fine and Decorative Arts in London and continued her studies at Harvard University where she became interested in 20th century architecture. Since returning to the UK she has taught on courses in Oxford and London and given lectures around the country. Her special interest is in Architecture and Design of the 20th century.

THE BAUHAUS

Where did mixer taps and fitted kitchens come from? Angle-poise lamps and strip lighting? The answer is the Bauhaus. This is the story of Germany’s most famous Design school, bitterly attacked in its day during the 1920’s, but one which has had a profound effect on modern buildings and their interiors ever since.
